MEET THE CREATOR
The Ice Maze is the brainchild of creator and ice artisan, Cory B Livingood.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Cory moved to Alaska on a whim in 2010. Since then, Cory has built a life with his family and after 11 years of living in Alaska off and on, this is where he now calls home.
For six winters, Cory traveled around the US and Canada building 1-2 acre ice attractions. These ice attractions brought in hundreds of thousands of guests and have been featured in media outlets around the world. He spent summers in Alaska as a backcountry guide and tourism operations manager.
“I've always talked about building an ice creation on my own, and during the pandemic, I've had the time to brainstorm. At one point, I came across a story about The World's Largest Snow Maze, which inspired me. Since I have much more experience working with ice, I conceptualized this project. I looked at the current record of The World's Largest Ice Maze and was confident I could break that with my own method of construction. This is something I've dreamt about for a long time and finally decided to commit to it. Throughout the process, I've faced unimaginable challenges, to say the least, but had no choice but to persevere through it all, and here we are.”
Cory went to school for physics, engineering and art, and ended up graduating with a degree in business management. With the creation of The Ice Maze, he is able to use all of his education and express his creativity through his work with ice.
Cory is passionate about creating immersive artistic experiences that become unforgettable memories for all of those who enter.
